Evelyn Lourido and Juan Carlos Buesaquillo 'Guasa' grew up in the Aguablanca district of Cali, she in the Vallado neighborhood and he in Los Naranjos. Their shared passion for dance led them to meet 16 years ago at the Constellación Latina dance school in northern Cali. Their talent was immediately spotted by their choreographer, Cecilia Montezuma, who saw enormous potential in them and united them as a dance couple. From then on, a natural connection developed between them, prompting them to seriously consider competition.
Since their debut, Evelyn and Juan Carlos have triumphed with Cali salsa, gaining local, national and international recognition. They have conquered stages in many countries around the world, building a solid reputation in the dance world. Their partnership was not limited to the dance floor: they also developed a unique personal relationship, strengthening each other as a dancing couple. Their love has given birth to a daughter and a dance school, an extension of their shared passion.
